The petition of Susan Stofflet widow of Lodowick Stofflet late of the town of Fayette deceased and Henry Moses of the town of Seneca Falls in the county of Seneca respectfully ____
That your petitioner Susan Stofflet is the widow of the said deceased and your petitioner Henry Moses the son in law of the said deceased. That the said Lodowick Stofflet died in the town of Fayette in the County of Seneca on the twenty second day of May instant. That at the time of his death he was a resident and inhabitant of the town and county aforesaid. That the said deceased has left no last will and testament as far as your petitioners have been able to discern or have heard. That in the opinion of your petitioners it is necessary, that ____ ____ of the estate of the said deceased should be granted to some discreet persons.
And your petitioners further show that all the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased do not exceede in value the sum of twelve thousand Dollars.
Your petitioners further state that the children of the said deceased are anxious that the peitioners should administer upon the estate of the said deceased. They therefore pray that they may be appointed administratrix and administrator of the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased.

In the matter of the final accounting of Henry Moses ____ adminstrator of the estate of Ludowick Stofflet late of Fayette deceased}
To the Surrogate of the County of Seneca
I the said Henry Moses serving administrator of the estate of Ludowick Stofflet late of Fayette deceased do render the following account of my proceedings in this matter for final settlement and allowance on the 28 day of November 1829. I caused an inventory of the personal estate of the deceased to be filed in this office In pursuance of an order of this court. I caused to be inserted in two newspapers a notice for claimants to present their claims against said estate which notice was published for six months; and I refer to said order now ____ Records of Surrogates office Seneca County -All the debts of every nature against said estate with interest was fully paid -all the fees and expenses of this administrator were fully paid, together with all funeral expenses of said deceased no other assets than those stated in the inventory have come to my possesions or knowledge -Susan Stofflet the widow of said deceased was associated with me in said administration but all the business was transacted by myself.__She died in August 1852.__After all debts and the expenses of administration ______were duly paid there remained for distribution among the widow heirs and next of kin the sum of $17238.69.

Henry Moses of the town of Seneca Falls in the county of Seneca being sworn says that Lewis Stofflett, late of the town of Fayette in said county of Seneca, died in the month of July 1838, a natural death in the town of Fayette in the county of Seneca, which was the place of his residence at, and immediately previous to the time of his death. That he died intestate as to his personal estate, leaving no last will or testament of the same, to the knowledge or belief of the deponent. That he left a will of his real estate, which consists of land in the State of Michigan. That the said deceased left no widow, or children, nor father. That he left other kindred entitled to his estate whose names and places of residence, as far as he can now ascertain the same, are as follows, to wit:
William Stofflett, a brother of the said deceased, residing in the town of Romulus in the State of Michigan.
Catherine Moses, lawful wife of the deponent and sister of the said deceased., residing in the town of Seneca Falls in the county of Seneca.
Nancy Freeland, wife of Elias Freeland, and Polly Freeland, wife of Daniel C. Freeland also sisters of the deceased, who reside in the town of Brownstown in the county of Wayne in the State of Michigan:
Betsey Hendrick, a sister of the said deceased, wife of Jacob Hendrick, residing in the town of Fayette in said county of Seneca:
That Sally Simmers, deceased, who was the wife of Benjamin Simmers, was also a sister of the said deceased, and that she died previous to the decease of the said Lewis Stofflett, leaving several children, two of whom reside in the State of Michigan and the others reside in the town of Fayette in said county of Seneca, whose names are unknown to this deponent.
That in right and behalf of his said wife, he, the deponent is desirous of taking letters of administration of the personal estate of the said Lewis Stofflett deceased.
That the personal property left by the said deceased, is of the value of Four hundred fifty dollars, according to the best of the deponent's knowledge and belief.

The petitioner of Henry Moses and Ludowick Stoflet respectfully shows, that Susan Stoflet late of the Town of Fayette in the County of Seneca, died on the fourth day of August instant at the said town of Fayette and at the time of her death was an inhabitant of said town of Fayette in the county aforesaid--That previous to her death to wit on the 6th day of June 1852, She made her last will & testament and your petitioners are named executors of her said last will & testament--that said will relates to real & personal estate and that the names & places of residence of the heirs and next of kin of the said testator are as near as your petitioners can ascertain as follows,
--Catharine Moses, a daughter of the said deceased wife of Henry Moses now residing at Seneca Falls in the said county of Seneca --Betsey Hendrix, a daughter, wife of Jacob Hendrix, now residing at the Town of Varick in the County aforesaid--Nancy Vreeland a daughter of the said deceased and widow of Elias Vreeland now residing in Wayne County in the State of Michigan--Mary Vreeland a daughter of the said deceased wife of Daniel C. Vreeland resides in Wayne County in the State of Michigan and the children of William Stoflet deceased, who was a son of the said testator whose names & residences are as follows to wit--Ludowick Stoflet residing at Fayette aforesaid & the remaining seven of said children all reside in Wayne County, Michigan--Loisee Kuney wife of Peter Kuney, William Stoflet, Susan Blakeley, wife of Merrit Blakely Julia Ann Harmon wife of Spencer Harmon, Jacob Stoflet, Daniel Stoflet, Margaret Stoflet-- your petitioners are assured & believe that the said Margaret is a minor under the age of twenty one years and has no general guardian All the children of Sarah Simmers a daughter of said deceased, who died about 18 years since. She was married twice- her first Husband name was Daniel Rigle now deceased- and her second husband was Benjamin Simmers by her first husband she had three children - William Regle who resides somewhere in the State of Illinois, Margaret Irwin wife of Charles Irwin who resides at Brownstown in Wayne County State of Michigan -- and Henry Rigle who resides at Syracuse in the State of New York
By her second husband she had four children - John Simmers, Sarah Simmers, Malinda Simmers, and Benjamin Simmers, who all reside at the town of Fayette in the County aforesaid. The said Sarah Simmers and Malinda Simmers - are minors under the age of 21 years and have no general guardian --Your petitioners __that __ __ issue out of under the seal of this court directed to the proper persons require them both to probate of said will & that all necessary steps may be taken to address said will probate

The petition of Peter Moses and Franklin Moses in the County of Seneca N.Y. respectfully showeth:
That Henry Moses late of the Town of Fayette in the said County of Seneca, deceased, died in the said Town of Fayette on or about the 15th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty, being at that time an inhabitant of the County of Seneca; that he died, leaving a last Will and Testament, which is now produced in the Surrogate's Court of the said County of Seneca, before the said Surrogate, which bears date the 14th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three and by which said last Will and Testament the said deceased nominated and appointed your Petitioners (Peter Moses and Franklin Moses) the executors thereof; that the said deceased died possessed of Real & personal estate in the said County of Seneca, and that the following named persons are all the heirs at law and next of kin of the said deceased, and their respective ages and places of residence are as follows, viz:
Your petitioners residing in Seneca County N.Y.
Mary Goodyear residing at Flat Rock Wayne Co. Mich.
All of whom are children of said testator and severally of full age.
Maria Travis; Charlotte Story, severally residing at Seneca Falls N.Y.

Isabel Montgomery residing at Lodi Center Kallkaska Co. Mich. &
Gertrude Bachman residing at Rockwood Wayne Co. Mich,
Children of Susan Styne deceased who was a daughter of said testator and all of whom are of full age:
William H. Moses a son of said testator of full age whose place of residence is unknown and cannot after diligent inquiry be ascertained by your petitioners but who last resided in the town of Fayette Seneca Co. N.Y. about eight years ago and that your petitioners have not seen or heard from said William in nearly eight years and do not know whether or not he is still living. That if said William be dead his heirs at law and next of [kin] are Henry Moses: Orville Moses & Eugene Moses his children and Eliza Moses his wife severally of full age and severally residing at Flat Rock aforesaid.
And it is further ordered, adjudged and decreed, that out of the balances so found as above, remaining in the hands of the said trustee he retain the sum of one hundred sixty five (165) dollars and eighteen cents ($165.18) for the commissions to which he is entitled on this accounting; and also the sum of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.) for his counsel fees and expenses of this accounting.
And in appearing to the satisfaction of the said surrogate and court that William Moses named in said petition has been continuously absent and unheard and unknown of for the period of over fourteen years, and that he was upwards of seven years ago dead: it is further ordered adjudged and decreed that the said testamentary trustee pay the sum remaining in his hands undisposed of, to wit: the sum of $5296.10 as follows:
